My name is Syakirah or known as “Mak Cik” by my classmates. I vaguely remembered is it 14th April 2019 or 4th April 2019 when I first came to DHU. So, I could say the decision of me joining this university is I got the full foundation scholarship and I would not want to miss this chance on graduating early as Foundation is one the rapid path to Degree.
From Day 1 to 1 year and a half that I have been in DHU to complete my study in Foundation in Business, what is like to be in Foundation in Business, all I could say is one word that is “Hectic, Hectic, and Hectic”. Hectic brought all the means in being a student of FIB, as all of my classmates has their crazy traits on them some of them I would personally call them Three Stooges in my Class, their members are who is well-known all around DHU due to his charm in speaking and intelligent. I would give him credit on being clever all the time, while the other one called as “Ustaz” since he studied in Jordan but little did they know how bizarre this “Ustaz” in my class, not to be left alone there is one class clown, “Piky” literally the combination of the three of them making the whole cass being hectic.
Also, there is a girl that known as “Mek Thira” as she is lovely and a very soft, gentle girl from Kelate and yeah, her partner in crimes “Anis”. Okay she is so unexpectable! Why? Because she loves to be sarcastic despite her cute appearance, she is all you can say quite bold in dissing people. There is a quiet but talented one too called “Shahirah” she is the saviour of my life especially in helping me crossing the road because knowing me being clumsy and love to play around so she decided to be my guardian angel also maybe I could call her my sister from another mother. Why is she so talented? For the record, she is in the theatre club and made her debut as supporting characters but I would always be there to support her in the field that she interested.
Enough of the introduction , so let us move on to the experience of studying in DHU. If I would be putting and writing all the story here, I swear this short article would be a novel. But to begin with our journey as a Foundation student is quite tough and beautiful in the same time.
There is one time that our class has been dissed by our lecturer during the last semester because she said that our class is too playful in her class but we managed to get A in her subject. That totally changed our lecturer’s perspective on our class.
There was also a time when in the first semester of our Foundation year, a very pretty and elegant young woman was our lecturer for accounting and believe me, those three stooges I mentioned above keep trying their best to flirt with her. In each of every class those three would not miss the chance to shoot their shot with pick-up line with our beautiful lecturer. Since our lecturer is a very supportive one, it is a blessing that she could stand with those three stooges.
Besides, if the class happen to be hectic and happy on the outside, there is an event where some of our classmate happen to injure his eyes during his birthday celebration because of some props that gotten to his eyes but because of his positivity he manages to face it well. Our Foundation is very interesting because there are many rumours that in our girls of class some of them is playgirl, and some of them is attention seeker hence it only just gossips that our class will remain calm. At last, our class is the batch that managed to get dean list throughout those difficult semesters and one year of suffering because so of our syllabus that truly out of ordinary from what we thought.
Lastly, I would like to express my gratitude to the lecturers in our Foundation year and those friends and classmates that always be there through the thick and thin in being student and do not forget that though we felt down or stressed you could always find me if you know me through this writing then I would share all the funny things that happened in our class of Foundation 19/20.
Wish all of you the best of luck in our struggle for our degrees. A lot of love and support from me, Syakirah.
