O-Hunger is one of the welfare initiatives from SRC 2020/21 that help students in the group of B40, Zakat, and those students who might be facing the financial difficulties. O-Hunger provides external basic food for students and those in needs.

Meeting on O-Hunger Proposal

O-Hunger is one of the initiatives under the Ten Empowerment Goals. The first meeting sets out and scheduled the process on establishing the first university foodbank.

28th September 2020

O-Hunger Presentation to Vice Chancellor

The initiative was presented to Dato Omar bin Osman, DRB-HICOM University’s Vice Chancellor. The presentation was done in order to get his direct approval on uplifting the students welfare environment. The Vice Chancellor agrees to the inititative for the betterment of the university.

First step towards O-Hunger

The Student Representative Council took a different approach to achieve TEG No6 by providing lunch to students in University Village. By the help of SRC members, 90 students who stays in University Village during MMCO second phase were cared. O-Hunger will be launch as one of the SRC initiative to establish a Foodbank in University.

2nd January 2021

O-Hunger Foodpack Distribution

Weekly O-Hunger program started with foodpack distribution for either lunch or breakfast. Students received free food each weekends. The programs are assisted by the university student leaders and volunteers.

Student Relief Pack Distribution

The relief pack is distributed to all University Village residents. Due to returning to UV, all the students are required to be isolated and being quarantined.

O-Hunger Foodbank & Wakaf Lounge

O-Hunger specific room is set. SRC and student leaders help in arranging the foodbank needs including racks, food and other miscellenious.

Ihya' Ramadhan Collaboration with SAC

Ramadhan in campus during this pandemic increases the spiritual enthusiasm among the students. SAC assisted on the iftar and foods everyday throughout the blissful month.

"Projek Ramadhan"

Projek Ramadhan was initiated to increase the enggagement with the community, the team take action by approaching those in needs by collecting donation and channel the donation to respective groups of people.

Raya Travel Pack

Before the starts of MCO 3.0 in Malaysia, the students were allowed to go home during the eid holiday, the Student Representative Council and O-Hunger Committee initiated a Raya Travel Pack for all students who returns home under the supervision of SAC.
